Early School Leaving – Paris

De 21 a 17 de janeiro, participarei num curso, em Paris, sob o título Don’t Give Up and Catch Your Dreams: Reducing Early School Leaving com os seguintes objetivos:

 

  • To respond to the needs of teacher’s personal and professional development skills in prevention of early school leaving
    • To improve trainees’ knowledge in National policies to reduce ESL in many European Countries
    • To ensure a coherent, systemic and coordinated approach, the exchange of good practices and the efficient use of resources
    • To understand strong coordination and cooperation between national, regional and local actors.
  • O programa será o seguinte:
  • Day 1 Activities
  • Welcome-Registration and Hand-out of Materials
  •  Ice breaking and introduction of the course programme
  • Stating the last 10 year’s ESL rates in Europe
  •  The possible reasons of ESL depending on the cultural or social background of the countries
  •  Representing the key challenges, the scale of the problem and main factors leading to ESL across Europe
  • Day 2 Activities 
  • Comprehensive policies’ to reduce ESL – a discussion on the key characteristics of successful policies.
  • a checklist on comprehensive policies as a self-assessment tool.Focusing on the needs of teacher’s personal and professional development skills in prevention of early school leaving
  • Day 3 Activities
  • Full day discussion: Extra-curricular and out-of-school activities to enrich the learning offer Understand strong coordination and cooperation between national, regional and local actors
  • Full day discussion: Observing and discussing participants’ school policy about ESL
  • Full day discussion: Observing and discussing participant’s curriculum against the ESL
  • Day 4 Activities
  • ESL rates in the EU based on Eurostat data.
  • Presentations of practice examples from European countries represented
  • Define intervention measures such as;
  • Early Warning Systems (EWS)
  • Systemic support frameworks within schools
  • Focus on the needs of the individual pupil
  • Ensuring a coherent, systemic and coordinated approach, the exchange of good practices and the efficient use of resources
  • Day 5 Activities
  • Extra-curricular and out-of-school activities to enrich the learning offer Understand strong coordination and cooperation between national, regional and local actors
  •  Discuss the possible results of ESL in the growth of economy and the social cohesion
  • Support to teachers
  • Empower families and parents to support their children’s education Raise parental awareness of ESL
  • State the targets of the Europe 2020 Strategy 1 about Early School Leaving
  • Key Issues and Concerns 2011 Recommendations of The European Union’s Education Council on policies to reduce early school leaving (ESL)
  • Day 6 Activities
  • Presentation of participant organizations (a five-minute presentation) – Understand strong coordination and cooperation between national, regional and local actors – Get aware of important elements of a sustainable and comprehensive strategy including; a coordinating body, a progressive approach, local and national adaptation, awareness raising and training, sustainable funding,monitoring and evaluation
  • Get familiar with the strategies of active involvement and cooperation of skateholders at national, regional, local and school level
  • Understand the scope and reasons behind ESL – Get competences to design and implement targeted policies against ESL – Follow characteristics of the education and training system can help reduce obstacles to completing upper secondary education
  • Day 7 Activities 
  • Overview of the course program
  • Evaluation of the course program – Filling the feedback forms – Europass Mobility Certificate Participation Certificate

    Não há dúvida de que o programa é extenso e exigente! No entanto, com tanta diversidade, abrange todas as temáticas que vão ao encontro dos objetivos do projeto.
    Boas aprendizagens e que estas possam vir a melhorar o desempenho da ESSPC.
